Peter Osei Duah

Mr. Peter Osei Duah, ASA, MBA, is an insurance practitioner who has over forty years of experience in the industry. Mr. Duah was the Managing Director of SIC Insurance Company, the largest insurance company in Ghana from 2001 until 2009. He started his insurance career in the United States where he trained as an actuary. He attended the University of Chicago (Chicago, Illinois) where he obtained a bachelor’s degree and an MBA (Finance and Statistics) from the same school. Mr. Duah is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (USA).

In the USA, Mr. Duah worked with Travelers Insurance Company and Life Insurance Company of Virginia before returning home to Ghana. He co-founded Tri-Star Actuarial and Management Consultants where he offered advice and actuarial services to the Ghanaian insurance industry. In July 2001, he was appointed the Managing Director of State Insurance Company (SIC). He was at the helm of affairs at SIC for over eight years and finally retired in June 2009.

Mr. Duah transformed SIC from a company in serious financial trouble to one of the strongest corporate entities in Ghana culminating in the listing of the company on the Ghana Stock Exchange in January of 2006. During his tenure at SIC, the company was selected as the “Best Insurance Company” for four consecutive years by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (Ghana). Mr. Duah founded Allstar Insurance Brokers in April 2004.

He  is a member of the Board of Directors.
