Magnus Ebo Duncan (PhD, FICEG)

Dr. Magnus Ebo Duncan is a Macroeconomist/Economic Statistician with a wide range of work experience in economic, financial, demographic and social statistics. A greater part of his working career was with the Ghana Statistical Service where he worked for 23 years and rose through the ranks to become the Director for the Economic Statistics Division from 2007 to 2013. He served on many committees and teams when working in the public service, some of which were Chairman of the Technical Sub-committee on national minimum wage of the National Tripartite Committee, member of the Economic Policy Coordinating Committee (EPCC), member of the National Revenue Forecasting Team, and member of the National Budget Preparation Team.

He also served on committees of international bodies, such as member of the Advisory Expert Group on National Accounts of the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), member of the IMF Expert roster on National Accounts and Price Statistics, and member of ECOWAS Expert Group Meeting on National Accounts.

Ebo also worked with the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) as the Macroeconomist and Financial Sector Specialist; Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) as Senior Research Fellow; and Canadian High Commission in Ghana as Economist Adviser for the Field Support Services Program. He is currently a consultant and has undertaken consultancy works for institutions such as the Liberia Institute for Statistics and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS), the Central Bureau of Statistics of Nigeria, KPMG, UNECA, World Bank, DAI Brussels and Ernst & Young.

He is a member of the International Association for Researchers in Income and Wealth (IARIW) and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Economists of Ghana (ICEG).
